The Discovery Princess is the sixth ship of Princess Cruises’ Royal class. With a capacity for 3,660 passengers at lower berths and around 145,000 tons of displacement, this giant of the seas made its U.S. maiden voyage on March 27, 2022, departing from Los Angeles.
Built by the prestigious Italian shipyard Fincantieri in Monfalcone, the Discovery Princess impresses with its dimensions: 330 meters in length, over 66 meters in height, and almost 39 meters in width. With a maximum speed of 22 knots, this cruise ship features 19 decks housing 1,830 staterooms attended by a crew of 1,346 people.
Among its most outstanding features is the variety of accommodations, from the exclusive Sky Suites with the largest balconies at sea to a wide selection of suites, mini-suites, and balcony staterooms. The ship also offers 40 accessible staterooms and 100 connecting ones.
The culinary experience on board is extraordinary with more than 20 food and beverage venues, including elegant restaurants like Bistro Sur La Mer and Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, as well as more casual options such as Gigi’s Pizzeria and 24-hour room service.
Entertainment is equally impressive with venues like the Princess Theater and the Take Five jazz lounge. Passengers can enjoy first-class facilities such as the Lotus Spa, The Sanctuary (an adults-only area), a Las Vegas-style casino, and the spectacular SeaWalk.
To complete the experience, the ship features four pools and ten hot tubs, plus a youth center divided by age groups to ensure fun for the youngest guests.
