June 11, 2024

Disney Cruise Line has officially opened its newest destination, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, on the island of Eleuthera. This unique retreat offers guests an immersive experience of Bahamian culture, combined with signature Disney entertainment, port adventures, nature trails, water play areas, and beautiful beaches.

Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line, celebrated the debut, emphasizing the company’s long-standing partnership with the Bahamian community.

“For more than 25 years, we have partnered with The Bahamian community to introduce countless families to this beautiful island nation. And with the addition of Disney Lookout Cay, we are offering a brand-new way for our guests to experience the stunning beauty, beloved traditions and colorful artistry of The Bahamas with a special touch of Disney magic.”

The destination features vibrant Bahamian-inspired architecture and art, created in collaboration with local artists. Highlights include the Goombay Cultural Center, where families can participate in workshops on Junkanoo traditions.

Entertainment at Disney Lookout Cay merges Disney magic with Bahamian culture, offering parades, games, and unique character outfits designed by Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett. Guests can enjoy family and adult-exclusive beaches, water play areas, and a nature trail with bronze sculptures of indigenous animals.

Culinary offerings include Bahamian-inspired dishes and classic favorites, served in beautiful dining pavilions and beachside bars.

Disney has prioritized sustainability in the development of Lookout Cay, with a focus on preserving the island’s natural beauty and wildlife. Initiatives include elevated walkways, an open-trestle pier, and a commitment to zero waste and renewable energy. The collaboration with local communities and focus on cultural appreciation ensures a unique and enriching experience for all visitors.
