Carnival Cruise Line, established in 1972 by Ted Arison, is the world’s largest cruise company by passenger numbers and a flagship brand of Carnival Corporation & plc. Known as “America’s Cruise Line,” it serves more U.S. homeports and carries more American passengers than any other cruise line. The company began with a single converted ocean liner, the TSS Mardi Gras, and has since hosted over 100 million guests.
