Royal Caribbean and IAG Loyalty Launch Innovative Partnership to Reward Travelers with Avios

September 3, 2024

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Royal Caribbean International has teamed up with IAG Loyalty to offer travelers a unique opportunity to earn Avios points, the global loyalty currency, on their cruise bookings. This marks a historic first as IAG Loyalty’s inaugural partnership with a cruise line. Starting August 29, 2024, members of British Airways Executive Club, Aer Lingus AerClub, Iberia Plus, and Vueling Club can earn three Avios for every £1 or €1 spent when booking balcony or suite accommodations through Royal Caribbean’s U.K., Spain, and Ireland websites.

The partnership aims to enhance the holiday experience by allowing travelers to accrue Avios points, which can be redeemed for future travel, making vacations more rewarding and cost-effective. According to Gerard Nolan, Vice President of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Royal Caribbean International, the Avios earned from a two-person balcony room could potentially cover a one-way flight within Europe, providing travelers with significant savings.

David Black, Head of Retail, Travel, and Leisure at IAG Loyalty, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting Royal Caribbean’s appeal as a popular brand that aligns with the lifestyle and travel preferences of Avios members.
