The atrium, Piazza Duomo, takes its name from the square around Florence's domed cathedral.

Carnival Firenze was built by Fincantieri at Marghera and delivered to Costa Cruises in December 2020 as Costa Firenze, with interiors inspired by Florence and the Renaissance. After a refit at Navantia in Cádiz, it joined Carnival Cruise Line in 2024 as the second Fun Italian Style ship. It sails year-round from Long Beach (California) to the Mexican Riviera, Catalina Island and Ensenada. On board, Florentine venues such as the Piazza Duomo atrium and Il Mercato sit alongside Carnival classics such as WaterWorks and Bonsai Teppanyaki.
