MSC Cruises has announced that MSC World Asia, the newest ship in its fleet, will have an Eataly restaurant on board. According to the cruise line’s press release of 15 October 2026, it will be the second Eataly at sea, after the one that opened on MSC World America in 2025. MSC says it is the only cruise line with Eataly restaurants on its ships.
Eataly is an Italian food brand with markets and restaurants in several countries. On MSC World Asia, the restaurant will serve regional specialities and classic Italian dishes, according to MSC, in a dining room with its own design and a terrace with sea views.
Show cooking, terrace and wine cellar
MSC describes three features of the new restaurant:
- Show cooking: a chef will cook at a dedicated table, in front of the guests.
- Terrace: guests can eat outside, on a terrace overlooking the sea.
- Wine cellar: wine lovers can book a visit to the wine cellar at The Terrace Bar and choose their own bottle there.

Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, said that “partnering with Eataly allows us to bring a renowned culinary brand to sea” and that, after the debut on MSC World America, the line wants to offer the same experience to its guests in the Mediterranean. The press release does not say whether the restaurant will charge a cover price or work with set menus, as most specialty restaurants on MSC ships do.
More than 40 places to eat and drink
According to MSC, MSC World Asia will have more than 40 bars, lounges, cafés and restaurants, many of them developed with outside culinary partners. Earlier announcements included Pan Asian Street Food, Kaito Sushi Bar and Kaito Teppanyaki, the Butcher’s Cut steakhouse, the largest Venchi chocolate bar at sea and the Masters of the Sea pub with its own microbrewery. All of these are on the MSC World Asia page.
The ship is the third in the World Class, after MSC World Europa and MSC World America, and runs on liquefied natural gas. She starts sailing on 4 December 2026 with 7-night Western Mediterranean cruises with several embarkation ports. MSC lists Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples and Valletta among the ports of call.
