February 26, 2025

Royal Caribbean International has announced an extensive lineup of short Caribbean getaways for the 2026-27 season, featuring an array of ships and destinations designed to maximize travelers’ vacation time. The cruise line is strategically positioning its fleet to offer diverse options from multiple homeports across the United States.

The highlight of the announcement is the continued deployment of Utopia of the Seas from Port Canaveral, offering year-round 3- and 4-night adventures. The ship will maintain its weekend-focused schedule, featuring visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay and the new Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, set to open in December 2025.

Wonder of the Seas will establish Miami as its home base, providing year-round short getaways to Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau. Similarly, Freedom of the Seas will operate from Miami, offering slightly longer 4- and 5-night itineraries across both the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

For summer travelers, Royal Caribbean is expanding its presence in the Gulf Coast, with Mariner of the Seas operating from the world’s first zero-energy cruise terminal in Galveston. The ship will offer 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean adventures. Meanwhile, Rhapsody of the Seas will return to Tampa, and Grandeur of the Seas will operate from Fort Lauderdale, focusing on Bahamas itineraries.

The winter 2026-27 season will see several strategic deployments, including Liberty of the Seas from Galveston, Harmony of the Seas from Port Canaveral, and both Explorer of the Seas and Vision of the Seas offering varied Caribbean itineraries. A significant addition to the cruise experience will be the debut of Royal Beach Club Cozumel in 2026, providing guests with a new exclusive beach destination in Mexico.

This expansion of short Caribbean itineraries demonstrates Royal Caribbean’s commitment to providing flexible vacation options while introducing new destinations and experiences. The diverse deployment of ships across multiple homeports makes Caribbean cruising more accessible to travelers throughout the United States.
