Radiance of the Seas is the first ship of Royal Caribbean's Radiance Class and the one that gave the class its name. Built by Meyer Werft in Germany and delivered in 2001, she introduced a design with large glass surfaces, panoramic elevators and floor-to-ceiling windows. Her Panamax dimensions, with a beam of 32.2 m (106 ft), allow her to transit the original Panama Canal locks and reach ports closed to larger ships.
