Royal Caribbean Unveils New Perfect Day Mexico Destination for 2027

May 15, 2025

Royal Caribbean has announced plans for its most ambitious destination project to date, Perfect Day Mexico, set to open in fall 2027 on Mexico’s Caribbean coast. The 200-acre development promises to combine thrilling attractions with relaxation opportunities, all while incorporating authentic Mexican cultural elements.

The centerpiece of the development will be the Loco Waterpark, featuring more than 30 waterslides across five towers. The park will house North and South America’s tallest waterslide tower, highlighted by the 170-foot Jaguar’s Peak with its record-breaking coaster waterslide. The park will also introduce the world’s first sombrero-themed slide, alongside various pools and attractions suitable for all age groups.

Splash Cove will feature the world’s longest lazy river, complete with float-up bars and an optional “crazy section” offering more adventurous experiences. The area will also include a massive 100,000-square-foot pool and Royal Caribbean’s largest Splashaway Bay, specifically designed for younger visitors.

The destination will be divided into seven distinct neighborhoods, each offering unique experiences. Adults seeking a more exclusive atmosphere can enjoy El Hideaway, an adults-only area featuring a zero-entry pool, swim-up bar, and in-pool DJ. The Ultimate Party Cabana, accommodating up to 20 guests, will offer a private pool and bar.

Perfect Day Mexico will also emphasize local culture and relaxation with nearly two miles of white sand beaches at Chill Beach North and South, while the Costa Beach Club will provide an upgraded experience with premium dining and heated infinity pools.

The destination’s commitment to authentic Mexican culture extends to its dining options, with 12 regionally inspired venues and 24 bars, including six swim-up locations. Visitors can experience local culture through mariachi performances, art installations, and shopping from local artisans.

Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean, emphasized that Perfect Day Mexico represents the company’s largest and most ambitious destination project to date, designed to provide the ultimate family vacation experience.

The development is being created in partnership with local government and community stakeholders, with a focus on sustainability and community development. A new welcome center will serve guests from all cruise lines visiting the Mahahual area.

When operational in 2027, Perfect Day Mexico will be accessible via Western Caribbean itineraries departing from Galveston, New Orleans, and Florida ports, with bookings opening in fall 2025.
