Royal Caribbean has officially announced the start of construction on its seventh Oasis Class ship, one of the most significant milestones in its fleet development. At the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, the traditional steel-cutting ceremony took place, marking the physical beginning of the new vessel.

The Oasis Class is one of the most recognizable in the cruise world due to its size and innovation. Since its debut over a decade ago, these ships have transformed the onboard experience, combining advanced technology, entertainment, and floating urban design. The new ship, still without an official name, will enter service in 2028, thus expanding the company’s cruise vacation offerings.

Representatives from Royal Caribbean and the French shipyard participated in the event alongside engineers, architects, and designers. The project seeks to continue the line of innovation established by ships such as Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, and the most recent Utopia of the Seas.

The name and additional details of the new ship will be announced later, but with this first step, the company begins a new chapter in its history of expansion and leadership in the cruise industry.
