Carnival Cruise Line rolls out Express Dining

Carnival Cruise Line is introducing “Express Dining”, a new accelerated dinner service in the main dining room so guests can make better use of their time on board.

March 10, 2026

Carnival Cruise Line has begun rolling out Express Dining, a dinner option that lets guests enjoy a multi-course menu in under an hour for groups of up to six people. The service is already available on 15 ships, and is expected to be implemented fleetwide by the end of May.

Express Dining is offered every night in each ship’s main dining room as an alternative to the line’s traditional dinner experience. The goal is to serve guests who want a full meal with a more time-efficient pace, leaving more time for other cruise activities.

Philosophy: more flexibility with onboard time

According to Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, guests increasingly value flexibility in how they manage their time during a cruise. The company previously tested the concept as a pilot program and, after receiving positive feedback, decided to expand it across the fleet.

Duffy emphasizes that Express Dining maintains the same quality of food and service associated with the brand’s main dining rooms, but in a format designed to give guests more time for “all the rest of the fun on board.”

How Express Dining works

  • Service available nightly in the main dining room.
  • Designed for groups of up to six guests.
  • Target duration: a multi-course experience in under an hour.
  • Based on the main dining room menu, with a slightly shortened selection.
  • Special dietary requests are still accommodated within this faster service format.

Express Dining does not replace the traditional dinner model. It complements it, allowing guests to choose between a more leisurely evening or a quicker service.

Ships that already offer Express Dining

The new service is currently available on the following Carnival ships:

  • Carnival Jubilee
  • Carnival Celebration
  • Mardi Gras
  • Carnival Venezia
  • Carnival Firenze
  • Carnival Panorama
  • Carnival Horizon
  • Carnival Sunrise
  • Carnival Vista
  • Carnival Breeze
  • Carnival Radiance
  • Carnival Conquest
  • Carnival Dream
  • Carnival Glory
  • Carnival Freedom

The company confirms that Express Dining will be available across the entire fleet by the end of May, expanding the option to all itineraries.

Activation through the app

Guests who have booked the Your Time Dining option can select Express Dining directly through Carnival’s HUB mobile app. This integrates the service choice into the same digital tools the line already uses to manage reservations and onboard activities.

Strengthening Carnival’s flexible dining strategy

The rollout of Express Dining is part of a broader Carnival strategy to expand flexible dining options across its fleet. In this context, the line points to the recent introduction of Family Express on the Lido Deck, another fast-paced service geared toward families that was tested on Carnival Vista and is now available on all ships.

According to the company, Family Express has become one of guests’ favorite options, reinforcing the push for more food and beverage choices tailored to different guest profiles and dining time preferences.
