A mid-sized ship with a musical theme, small enough to reach ports such as Bora Bora that larger ships cannot.
Zaandam was delivered in 2000 as the third ship of Holland America Line's R class and, together with her sister Volendam, is one of the two ships of the class still sailing for the line. Her interiors follow a musical theme, with a Dutch Baroque-style pipe organ in the atrium and guitars signed by Eric Clapton, Iggy Pop and the Rolling Stones. With 1,432 guests at double occupancy, she spends the summer on 7-day Alaska cruises from Vancouver and the rest of the year sailing from San Diego to Mexico, Hawaii and the South Pacific. She also operates long voyages such as the 90-day Grand Australia & New Zealand Voyage of 2028.
