MSC Group’s Cruise Division has officially unveiled Sandy Cay as a new luxury private destination located next to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas. According to the announcement, the island has been designed as a more secluded and tranquil complement to Ocean Cay, offering an experience focused on direct contact with the sea and the Bahamian landscape. The company notes that the name Sandy Cay is inspired by aragonite sand, described as among the purest and brightest in the world.

The project is part of the group’s strategy to strengthen its shore experiences through exclusive spaces for its cruise brands. In this case, the new offer does not replace Ocean Cay. Instead, it expands it with an additional dimension of discovery and relaxation for guests. The first visitors are expected in 2028.

The announcement also includes updates for Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, which will receive enhancements to its facilities and experiences. These include new dining venues, beach concepts for families and adults, expanded relaxation areas, and new ways to take part in marine conservation through immersive activities. With these changes, MSC aims to continue evolving its private destinations while keeping the protection of the Bahamian natural environment in focus.
