Royal Caribbean Group announced the launch on April 16, 2026, describing the foundation as a formal expansion of its long-standing commitment to communities connected to its business and destinations. The company said the foundation builds on a 30-year legacy of investments in education, local economies, and environmental preservation, while also widening its ability to work with nonprofit partners around the world.
A central part of the announcement is the foundation’s link to the company’s SEA the Future strategy, which stands for Sustaining the planet, Energizing communities, and Accelerating innovation. Royal Caribbean Group said the foundation will use that framework to guide philanthropic efforts that support long-term community well-being and responsible tourism.

The first major commitment under the new foundation is directed to Jackson Health Foundation in South Florida. According to the company’s announcement, the pledge will help support a new emergency medicine residency program, with the goal of strengthening clinical training and workforce readiness in the region.
The company also framed the launch as part of a wider belief that tourism can create shared value when it is tied to local development. Royal Caribbean Group said the foundation will collaborate with organizations and institutions that focus on community resilience, ocean conservation, and other long-term needs.
For cruise industry observers, the move signals a more structured way for Royal Caribbean Group to organize and expand its community investments. It also reflects a growing trend among large travel companies to connect brand growth with measurable social impact, especially in destinations that depend on tourism.
