The Carnival Legend arrived at the Port of San Francisco on May 8, 2025, marking the start of its first season operating from this U.S. West Coast city, which will serve as its seasonal homeport.
This is the second Carnival Cruise Line vessel to offer seasonal itineraries from San Francisco. With the arrival of Carnival Legend, the cruise line completes its deployment for the Alaska season, where Carnival Spirit and Carnival Luminosa also operate from the port of Seattle. To commemorate this first call, port authorities and ship officers, including Captain Mark Harlow, participated in a traditional plaque exchange.
Carnival Legend’s inaugural voyage from San Francisco, which departed on May 8, was a four-day cruise to Ensenada, Mexico. Subsequently, on May 12, it embarked on its first 10-day Alaska itinerary of the season. These Alaska sailings include visits to destinations such as Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan, viewing the Tracy Arm Fjord, and a stop in Prince Rupert, British Columbia (Canada). The schedule from San Francisco also includes other Alaska departures and shorter getaways to the Mexican Riviera. Additionally, a special 15-day roundtrip “Carnival Journeys” cruise to Hawaii is scheduled for September 21, which will visit several ports in the Hawaiian Islands.
Carnival Legend has a capacity for 2,124 passengers and offers over 630 balcony staterooms and 50 suites. On board, passengers can find various dining and entertainment options characteristic of the cruise line, such as Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, RedFrog Pub, Alchemy Bar, and the WaterWorks aqua park. Recent ship refurbishments include the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, Chef’s Table, Dreams Studio, and enhancements to the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and Cloud 9 Spa.
