Royal Caribbean has announced the launch of Legend of the Seas, the next Icon Class ship that promises to redefine family experiences on cruises. This new vessel will begin operations in July 2026, offering 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona and Rome, before relocating to Fort Lauderdale in November of the same year to operate 6 and 8-night Caribbean voyages.
The Legend of the Seas will feature eight themed neighborhoods, each designed as a destination in itself. Among the highlights are 28 dining options, the largest dining offering at sea, including Royal Railway – Legend Station, an immersive concept that combines dining, entertainment and technology inspired by the ancient Silk Routes.

Onboard entertainment will include the premiere of Roald Dahl’s Broadway musical “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” water shows at the AquaTheater, and performances on ice at Absolute Zero, the largest ice rink at sea.
For the more adventurous, the ship will offer Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea with six slides, and Crown’s Edge, an experience that combines skywalk and zip line 154 feet above the ocean. Families will find seven different pools and a renovated carousel in the Surfside neighborhood.
The Legend of the Seas will maintain signature Icon Class features such as the Royal Promenade with floor-to-ceiling ocean views, The Pearl (the world’s largest kinetic art sculpture), and Central Park, an open-air space with more than 30,500 real plants.
In addition to offering a wide range of experiences, the Legend of the Seas will be the company’s fourth ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and will feature cutting-edge environmental programs, including waste heat recovery systems and shore power connection, advancing Royal Caribbean Group’s commitment to introduce a net-zero emissions cruise ship by 2035.
