Princess Cruises begins sailings from Port Canaveral for first time

November 28, 2024

Port Canaveral welcomed a significant addition to its cruise lineup with the arrival of Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess, marking the first time a Princess ship will be homeported at the facility.

The ship will operate various itineraries taking passengers to destinations throughout the Caribbean and Central America. This strategic move is part of Princess Cruises’ broader expansion across North America, specifically targeting the Central Florida drive market.

Port Canaveral CEO Capt. John Murray expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting that Princess Cruises has been a highly anticipated addition to the port’s offerings: “Our collaboration with Princess Cruises marks an exciting milestone for us. They are a brand that many cruise enthusiasts have long awaited to sail from our Port.”

To commemorate this milestone, Princess Cruises demonstrated its commitment to the local community by donating two tons of food to support area families. The Caribbean Princess will continue operations from Port Canaveral through April 2025, offering 6- to 8-day cruise adventures.
