From Seattle-Tacoma airport to either cruise terminal is a 30 to 40 minute ride. Pike Place Market is a 12-minute walk from Pier 66.

Seattle is the main departure port in the United States for round-trip Alaska cruises, with sailings from late April to early October. The Port of Seattle has two cruise terminals: Bell Street Cruise Terminal at Pier 66, on the downtown waterfront, and Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91, about 3 km (2 miles) to the north in the Interbay area. It is worth checking which one your ship uses, as they are not within walking distance of each other. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is about 25 km (15 miles) south of downtown. The Link light rail connects it with the city centre in around 40 minutes, and taxis and cruise line transfers go directly to both piers.

From Pier 66, Pike Place Market, with its fish stalls and food counters, is a short walk along the waterfront. Seattle Center, home to the Space Needle, the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibition and the Museum of Pop Culture, is about 1.5 km (1 mile) away, and the Seattle Center Monorail links it with Westlake Center downtown. Other options before or after the cruise include the Seattle Aquarium and the Great Wheel on the waterfront, the Pioneer Square historic district and a ferry ride across Elliott Bay to Bainbridge Island, with views of the city skyline.

News about Seattle

Tips for your call

  • Which terminal
Pier 66: Norwegian, Oceania and Regent. Pier 91: Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, Holland America, MSC, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Virgin. The two are 5 km apart by road.
  • Parking
Pier 66: Bell Street Pier garage, $30 a day plus taxes, booked with Republic Parking. Pier 91: on-site lot from $27 a day with a free shuttle, booked with USP Parking.
  • Luggage storage
Both terminals keep bags for the day for $6 each; collect them by 15:00. Norwegian Bliss, Joy and Encore guests can drop bags from 8:00 and board by 14:00.
  • Port Valet
Free transfer of your bags from the ship to your flight if you fly home the same day. Most large lines take part, with Alaska, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and United. Enrol on board.
  • Call in Canada
US law (the Passenger Vessel Services Act) obliges foreign-flag ships on round trips from Seattle to call at a foreign port. Most stop in Victoria, Canada: take your passport.
  • Season
In 2026 ships sailed from Seattle from mid-April to mid-October, with ships almost every day; weekends are the busiest. A night in Seattle before the cruise leaves margin for flight delays.

Accessibility

The Bell Street Pier garage has 36 accessible parking spaces and Pier 91 has a wheelchair transport zone in its car park. Taxis at the airport include wheelchair-accessible vans. Ask your cruise line about boarding assistance.
