Noordam is the fourth and last of Holland America Line's Vista-class ships, handed over by Fincantieri in Marghera in January 2006. On 22 February 2006 she was named in New York by actress Marlee Matlin and sailed the same day on her maiden voyage to the Caribbean; her name comes from "noord", Dutch for north. A 2019 dry dock added Billboard Onboard and a pickleball court, and a dry dock in Singapore at the end of 2024 renewed carpets, upholstery and bathroom tiling. In 2026 and 2027 she sails Alaska from Seattle in summer and Australia, New Zealand and Asia for the rest of the year.
